If your permissions mean you have access to a lot of menu features in Sage 200 knowing how to navigate through the software more effectively could be a big help. That’s why we’ve put together a few options that can help you when navigating Sage 200.
Multi-collapse menu option
If you have multiple menu options expanded a quick and easy way to return to the main list is to ‘Collapse All’. Simply right click over the menu and select the ‘Collapse All’ option:

The favourites option
Another option to aid you navigating Sage 200 is building your own menu or ‘Favourites’. You can select a menu item to be a favourite in two ways.
1. Right click the menu item and choose ‘Add to Favourites’ (When added it will mean the right click ‘Remove from Favourites’ will be available)

2. Select the star icon in the top right hand corner of an open window (The star will display yellow to indicate something is a favourite, you can untick the star to remove from favourites)

If you have added some items to your favourites you will be able to see them by selecting the star icon at the top of your Sage menu.

You can then begin to design your own folder structure as well by editing the menu using the pencil icon.

You will then get the following buttons. Moving from left to right these are:
- Add new folder
- Remove from favourites
- Rename
- Move Up
- Move Down
Once new folders are created you can drag and drop menu items in. In the below example I have created a folder called ‘Month End Reports’ and dragged the appropriate menu options in:

To ‘Exit Edit Mode’ use the X in the top right to when you are finished.

Note: Editing your favourites menu will only affect your installation of Sage. Editing the main menu will affect all users of Sage. It is likely that most users do not have permissions to edit the main menu.
Menu search option
Locating something in the Sage menu isn’t always easy, especially if you have a lot to choose from. If you have some idea what you are looking for but can’t find it use the search option at the top of the menu. This will list the menu options which have the search criteria either in the menu name or in the form it opens.

To help you identify the item you are looking for there are a number of different icons which represent the Sage functions for example:

Workspace

Sage form or new window

Report
Once you have located the option you are looking for you can right click and ‘Show in Menu’:

This will take you to the expanded Sage menu and highlight where the menu option is, this way you can find it easier next time or add it to your favourites from there:

Menu minimise option
If you find the menu is taking up too much room in your screen you can choose to unpin it to create more space using the ‘Unpin From Desktop’ icon in the top right hand side of the menu:

This creates a narrow list of icons down the left:

Hover over the icon to display what it is for:

To show the menu again click the three lines at the top:

Once expanded you will have the option to pin it back to the full menu using the pin icon in the top right of the menu:

Missing or limited menu options are likely due to permission limitations managed by your company. If there are menu options which you cannot find but wish to have available, contact your management team in the first instance who can then reach out to your Sage business partner if assistance changing your permissions is required.
