Sandy is EBS’s biggest cheerleader, of that we’re sure anyone who knows her will agree. And it should come as no surprise, either, for someone who had a very sporty beginning to her working life as a lifeguard and PE coach, and with a BSc in Sport & Exercise under her belt.
But a problem solver at heart, it was a career in IT that Sandy ultimately turned to, eventually joining EBS in 2011 on our Sage Support Desk and working her way up to Team Leader and Customer Care Manager. Sandy’s loss to the sporting world is definitely to the gain of EBS.
Now, as our Managing Director and co-owner, Sandy is driven to ensuring our customers are happy with the products and services we provide and, in her own words, she will do whatever she can to see our customers and our staff succeed.
“It sounds like a cliché, but our staff and our customers really is what I love most about working for EBS,” she says.
“We’re a tight bunch internally, and we genuinely all get along. Many of our customers have been with us for many years and have been able to experience our professional progression as well as personal milestones. Everyone cares!”
It’s those relationships with our customers that, Sandy insists, is what helps make EBS stand out from other companies.
“We do have a more personable approach to working with our customers, and that really does set us apart from our competitors,” adds Sandy.
“And that is substantiated by the feedback the company receives. For example, the response to the management buy-out in 2021, both internally and externally, and the level of support from both staff and customers, has been nothing short of amazing.
“Completing the buy-out was, for me, my biggest personal achievement so far with EBS. I didn’t believe it would actually happen – when it did, it was a real ‘pinch me’ moment.”
The buy-out, the ensuing re-brand and the new website was the result of a lot of hard work and effort, of which Sandy is “very proud of”, and that combination has helped shape EBS for the now and for the future.
“The next stage of the EBS journey is going to be really exciting,” says Sandy. “We’ve got a tremendously motivated team and lots of plans in the pipeline.
“Personally, I’m really motivated by knowing the work that I do makes a difference, and if each day I make progress, then that sends me home happy.
“These are exciting times, not just for EBS staff but for our customers, too.”
