We’re delighted to say our Thrive Together 2023 event was a huge success and proved to be an enlightening and empowering day for all attendees who joined us at Moor Hall Hotel, Sutton Coldfield, on 12 July.

It was such a roaring success that we have already set the date for next year’s Thrive Together – there’s more on that towards the end of this article.

Sponsored by our good friends CyberSmart, Thrive Together focused on critical topics such as the cloud, cyber-security and growth, with the diverse range of presentations offering attendees valuable insights and practical solutions to address the ever-evolving challenges faced by businesses in the digital era.

In case you were unable to make it on the day, this article will give you a brief outline of what you missed and the key takeaways, and how the event proved extremely beneficial for those in attendance.

Sicon’s presentation on their Approvals module for Sage 200 was a standout feature for businesses seeking streamlined processes and enhanced efficiency.

The module’s integration with Sage 200 showcased its potential to revolutionise workflow management, allowing attendees to grasp the importance of incorporating innovative solutions to optimise their business operations.

Safeguarding your organisation against cyber-attacks

Censornet’s discussion on building an effective cyber-security strategy for SMEs was both informative and timely.

As small and medium-sized enterprises are increasingly targeted by cyber threats, Censornet’s presentation highlighted the necessity of adopting robust security measures.

Attendees were left equipped with a comprehensive understanding of the best practices and tools available to safeguard their organisations against cyber-attacks.

Draycir’s talk on Credit Hound presented an invaluable solution for businesses seeking to improve cash flow and expedite payments.

With its innovative approach to credit control and debt management, Credit Hound addressed a common pain point for companies, providing a practical means to optimise financial processes.

A wake-up call for businesses relying on Microsoft 365 Backup

Hornet Security’s presentation on Microsoft 365 Backup was a wake-up call for businesses relying on the platform.

Stressing the importance of data protection and backup, Hornet Security highlighted the potential risks of data loss and the significance of proactive measures.

Microsoft’s service-level agreements clearly state that they “cannot be held responsible for your content or the material others upload, store or share” using their services.

Attendees were surprised to discover that Microsoft 365 is not backed up as a standard and, due to the huge reliance on email with SMEs, this triggered some very informative discussions on the day and gave many a valuable takeaway action.

The point-in-time restoration that Hornet offer is not something that Microsoft currently provide, which limits restoration options following the data loss.

Phocas’s talk on unleashing the power of data underscored the vital role of data-driven decision-making in today’s business landscape.

With data becoming a valuable asset, Phocas demonstrated how businesses can harness their data to gain valuable insights, enabling them to make informed strategic decisions.

Shedding light on the vulnerabilities of outdated security systems

SonicWall’s presentation on reasons to upgrade legacy firewalls shed light on the vulnerabilities of outdated security systems.

SonicWall emphasised the importance of staying up to date with the latest advancements in firewall technology to defend against modern cyber threats effectively.

The event’s main sponsor, CyberSmart, reiterated the significance of starting cyber-security efforts with Cyber Essentials.

Their presentation highlighted how this foundational framework can serve as a cornerstone for building a strong cyber-security posture. Attendees were encouraged to implement these essential security measures to mitigate risks and protect their organisations from potential cyber incidents.
