Keep your business secure and upgrade from Windows 10

Home / News / Keep your business secure and upgrade from Windows 10

Windows 10 was released in the UK in July 2015, meaning it is nearly 10 years old. It is coming to the end of its life on the 14th October 2025. For businesses still running the operating system it is time to upgrade from Windows 10 – and keep your business secure.

Microsoft will no longer support updates after the 14th October 2025, and for SMEs who continue to use Windows 10 after this date they risk:

  • A reduction in security. Businesses will be more vulnerable to threats, viruses and malware.
  • Compatibility issues with software. Microsoft 365 apps – such as Office, Excel and Powerpoint – will no longer be supported on Windows 10.

Updating from Windows 10 to Windows 11 will address both of these risks and help keep your employees, and business, operating.

Plan and control your upgrade to Windows 11 with EBS

While Windows 10 offers the option to upgrade automatically to Windows 11 it isn’t something we’d recommend. At EBS, we’ve had multiple reports that it causes technical issues resulting in ongoing performance issues as well as system downtime.

That’s why we’ve introduced a phased approach to the update process. Our approach allows you to plan and control the upgrade to Windows 11 at a convenient time for your business that is fully managed and supported by EBS. It includes:

  • Pre-upgrade checks, including specification overview and application compatibility reviews to ensure your software will function smoothly on Windows 11.
  • System maintenance to clean out unnecessary files and optimise performance.
  • Complete upgrade management, handling the entire process for you.
  • New system overview to help you quickly adapt to the new system.
  • Complimentary roll-back or system reload if the upgrade fails, ensuring minimal disruption.

All available for a fixed price of £150 per device.
